SPEAKERS BIOS

Jasyn Henry,  MSc, P.Eng.
Vice President, Technical Services and Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Clifton Engineering Group

Jasyn is the Vice President, Technical Services and a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with Clifton Engineering Group.  His experience has been mixed between public and private sector companies. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and has spent his career practicing in the Canadian Prairies and the Midwest United States.  His experience is largely focused on the areas of slope stability, embankments, seepage, instrumentation, and construction of major earthworks.  He has played a major technical role in or managed projects ranging in value from $5k minor works to $150M multidisciplinary projects. 

Jasyn also worked for Water Security Agency in Saskatchewan from 2017-2022, where he served as the Engineering Specialist for Geotechnical Structures and Design and later as the Director of Infrastructure Engineering. In the latter role, Jasyn was responsible for the delivery of key projects from the 10-year rolling capital plan for rehabilitation of 72 dams and several hundred km of conveyance and flood protection works. This included maintaining nine major dams with a classification of Very High or Extreme based on Canadian Dam Association guidelines. During his time there he helped grow the project delivery and technical teams at WSA to a team of 18 engineers and 5 technologists.

On the personal side, Jasyn is a husband and father of two daughters.  He enjoys sports such as hockey, volleyball, hunting, and fishing (also ice fishing).

Jason is the Founder and President of Engcomp, a Saskatoon based engineering firm providing consulting to the heavy industrial and mining space.  His career started as a consulting engineer and evolved into building a successful business over the last 20 years, surviving an 8 year recession and growing to nearly 65 people.  Along the way he learned a lot about the consulting engineering industry and the fundamentals of business and leadership.

Her involvement in iconic endeavors like the Regina Bypass, Westside Irrigation Project, Boundary Dam Carbon Capture and the Acadia Irrigation Project has firmly established her as a leading figure in the engineering sphere. Nancy's ability to collaborate with diverse, multi-discipline teams and her unwavering commitment to project delivery have been crucial in achieving these milestones.

Beyond her exceptional project work, Nancy is deeply passionate about sharing her wealth of experience and insights with aspiring individuals seeking career advancement and a well-rounded life. Her active engagement in influential organizations like ACEC-SK and ACEC-Canada demonstrates her dedication to fostering growth and advancement within the engineering community.

On a personal level, Nancy is a devoted parent with three children. Apart from professional commitments, she actively participates in curling and has achieved significant success, clinching four provincial titles. Currently, Nancy has earned a spot to represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Senior Curling Championship in December 2023. Additionally, she has been an enthusiastic volunteer and leader in numerous Scotties Tournament of Hearts and Briers in both Saskatoon and Regina, significantly contributing to these community events and showcasing her leadership qualities beyond the engineering domain.
