The 2022 Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - Saskatchewan (ACEC-SK) Young Professional Award recipient is Rahim Ahmad, P.Eng.
At the age of sixteen Rahim moved from Surrey, BC to Warman, SK, which at the time was Canada’s fastest growing municipality. Watching the community grow and develop around him had a significant impact on Rahim, and it is in Warman that Rahim’s passion for engineering and construction blossomed.
Since completing his engineering degree and joining Associated Engineering in 2013, Rahim has displayed his technical prowess on a diverse portfolio of municipal and industrial engineering projects, including subdivision developments, raw water intakes, lift stations, water treatment plants, and landfills.
Starting out in AE’s field services group as an EIT, Rahim’s technical excellence and natural interpersonal skills grew and helped him progress rapidly from a resident engineer inspecting construction projects, to a Project Engineer completing detailed design, to a Project Manager looking after the successful delivery of high-quality designs and client satisfaction. In addition to his growth in project delivery, Rahim got to grow his management and leadership skills through serving as the Acting Manager of the Fort McMurray office, a role he undertook from August 2020 to March 2021.
In May 2022, Rahim joined AE’s ownership as one of their youngest Principal Stakeholders. Some recent projects that show his versality include:
